The Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev) is a World Bank trust fund that mobilizes private finance for clean energy access in low-income countries. It delivers results-based finance to innovative and transformative business models driven by the private sector. The Carbon Fund under the Ci-Dev is a key component of the World Bank-managed trust fund aimed at expanding clean energy access in low-income countries through results-based climate finance (RCBF)
The United Kingdom (Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS)), Climate Cent Foundation, and the Swedish Energy Agency.

Ci-Dev is a trust Fund managed by the World Bank.
Countries must be eligible for official development assistance (ODA).
Ci-Dev has signed emission reduction purchase agreements (ERPAs) for over 15 projects in sub-Saharan Africa. More information is available here.
