Gabon submitted its updated second NDC in 2022. The updated NDC covers agriculture, cities and urban areas, coastal areas, disaster risk management, biodiversity and ecosystems, forests, health, and infrastructure. The updated NDC contains enhanced adaptation components with expanded sectoral coverage. Gabon has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and with international support, pledges to continue to act as a "net carbon sink" by maintaining its net carbon absorption of at least 100 million tCO2eq per year beyond 2050.
