Overview
Colombia submitted its updated NDC in 2020. The updated NDC, which covers all emitting sectors, commits to reducing emissions by 51% by 2030 as compared to the business-as-usual scenario. The adaptation component of the updated NDC covers thirty multi-sectoral goals. The country submitted is Long-Term Strategy in 2021. Colombia seeks to be carbon neutral by 2050.

Climate Commitments
Partnership Engagement
- Membership: member since 2016
- Governance: Colombia is a current member of the NDC Partnership Steering Committee having served since 2023.
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Colombia has requested support related to improving the quality and ambition of the NDC, mobilization of financial resources for NDC Investment projects, and LT-LEDS enhancement. With Partnership support, Colombia has developed an NDC Action Plan in 2019 covering energy, transport, and a sustainable economy. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the development of technical and policy inputs to inform Colombia's green recovery efforts, and the establishment of the Climate Finance Broker Facility designed to connect climate action market opportunities with sources of financing.
