Overview

Chad submitted its revised NDC in October 2021. The revised NDC aims to reduce emissions by 19.3% by 2030 compared to the business-as-usual scenario. The revised NDC covers both mitigation and adaptation targets in the energy, agriculture, forestry and other land use, and waste sectors. The cost of NDC implementation is estimated to be USD 6.7 billion for mitigation actions and USD 5 billion for adaptation actions.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2018
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Chad has requested support related to improving the quality and ambition of the NDC; improving coordination and whole-of-society approaches; and LT-LEDS development and/or enhancement. Partners have supported various activities, including NDC revision under the Climate Action Enhancement Package, the recruitment of an in-country facilitator, and preparatory support to develop an LT-LEDS.
