Belize
Belize presented its first NDC in 2015 and submitted an updated version in 2021. The updated NDC targets are estimated to decrease emissions by 5,647 ktCO2 between 2021 and 2030. Mitigation targets in the updated NDC cover land use change, agriculture, energy, and waste management sectors and adaptation targets cover coastal zones and marine resources, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, human health, tourism, forestry and biodiversity, human settlements and infrastructure, and water. Belize developed a NDC Partnership Plan that covers all sectors included in the NDC. The estimated cost of implementation of mitigation components is USD 607 million with an additional USD 146 million required to achieve adaptation targets. Belize submitted its LT LEDS in 2023.
