Overview
Honduras submitted its updated NDC in 2021. The country commits to reduce net emissions by 16% by 2030. To achieve this target, the NDC covers seven measures linked to priority sectors with a particular emphasis on ecosystem restoration. The updated NDC also includes adaptation measures and actions for social inclusion, climate financing, and MRV.

Partnership Engagement
- Membership: member since 2017
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Honduras has requested support related to improving the quality and ambition of the NDC; LT-LEDS development and enhancement; strengthening monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and verification (MRV systems); and mainstreaming NDCs into national/subnational planning and budgeting. With Partnership support, Honduras is developing a roadmap to 2025 for the implementation of the NDC. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including an investment plan to implement the NDC, the development of new and improved LT- LEDS, and the enhancement of NDC ambition within the energy sector by developing baselines, diagnostics, scenarios and a strategy.
