Albania
Albania submitted its updated First NDC in 2021. Albania’s revised NDC presents a greater overall emissions reduction target of 20.9% below the business-as-usual scenario, or a 6.674 ktCO2e reduction from 2021 to 2030. The revised NDC contains more robust historical emissions data and an increased scope in mitigation targets, including targets for the industrial processes and product use, agriculture, energy (excluding international transport), waste, and land use, land-use change, and forestry sectors.

Climate Commitments
- Membership: member since 2019
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Albania has requested support related to designing and improving policies, strategies, plans, and legislation; mainstreaming NDCs into national/subnational planning and budgeting; improving the quality and ambition of the NDC; improving coordination and whole-of-society approach; and designing and strengthening monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and verification (MRV systems). In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the Climate Action Enhancement Package, the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability Assessment, and the COVID-19 Economic Advisory Initiative.
