 Pakistan submitted its revised NDC in 2021. The revised NDC has an unconditional emissions reduction target of 15% and a conditional target of 35% by 2030 as compared to the 2015 baseline. The revised NDC commits to increasing protected area land coverage from 12% to 15%, aims to shift energy mix towards 60% renewable and alternative energy, as well as increasing the number of electric vehicles by 30% by 2030. Pakistan strives to meet these targets through the implementation of sectoral projects within forestry, agriculture, land-use change, clean energy transition, transport, industry, WASH, health, waste and pollution control, and disaster management including cross cutting themes related to gender, youth, and blue economy.
