Overview

Uruguay submitted its updated NDC in 2022.The country commits to limiting carbon emissions to below 9.3 million tons annually by 2030. The updated NDC covers adaptation, gender, private sector engagement, finance, institutional capacity, agriculture, land use and silviculture, energy, industrial processes and use of products, and waste.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2017
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Uruguay has requested support related to capacity building and knowledge products. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including support to identify opportunities to raise the ambition of the energy sector goal of the NDC, and to accelerate research, development, and innovation for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
