El Salvador
El Salvador submitted its first NDC in 2017 and its updated NDC in 2022. The updated NDC commits to reducing emissions in the energy and agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) sectors by 46% as compared to the business-as-usual scenario for 2025. The updated NDC also includes adaptation goals for agriculture, biodiversity, cities, energy, infrastructure, water resources, waste and sanitation, health and transportation.

Climate Commitments
- Membership: member since 2017
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, El Salvador has requested support related to designing or strengthening monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and verification (MRV systems); designing policies, strategies, plans, and legislation; and capacity building. With Partnership support, El Salvador has developed an NDC Action Plan for the period 2022-2030 covering energy and agriculture, forestry, and other land use, biodiversity, cities, infrastructure, water resources, waste and sanitation, health, and transport. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the elaboration of a National MRV system for the NDC, a climate finance strategy and preparation of a pipeline of public projects for NDC implementation, and capacity building in forest fire management, climate-resilient urban planning, and electromobility.
