Saint Lucia submitted its updated NDC in January 2021. The country commits to an emissions reduction target of 7.2% for the energy sector by 2030 as compared to a 2010 base year. The updated NDC also covers components related to loss and damage. Saint Lucia has prioritized cross-sectoral and sectoral adaptation measures for eight key sectors/thematic areas.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2016
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Saint Lucia has requested support related mobilizing financial resources for NDC Investment projects; capacity building and knowledge products; and improving policies, plans, and legislation. With Partnership support, Saint Lucia has developed a Partnership Plan covering energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, transport and adaptation. In alignment with the Partnership Plan, partners have supported or are supporting various activities, including the development of a financing strategy and a system to quantify emissions, technical assistance to establish a climate finance unit, and support to raise stakeholders’ awareness of climate change.
