Palestine
Palestine submitted its first NDC in 2017 and updated NDC in 2021. The updated NDC has a conditional emissions reduction target of 26.6% by 2040 as compared to the business-as-usual scenario. Palestine has developed fourteen investment-ready NDC implementation action plans for adaptation measures in the agriculture, energy, health, transport, waste, and water sectors. In 2021, Palestine developed an NDC Partnership Plan and corresponding NDC Investment Plan containing indicators drawn from the country’s NDC implementation action plans.

Climate Commitments
- Membership: member since 2019
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Palestine has requested support related to designing or improving policies, strategies, plans, and legislation; improving coordination and whole-of-society approach; preparation of NDC-related projects and pipelines for investment; and mobilization of financial resources for NDC Investment projects. With Partnership support, Palestine has developed an NDC Action Plan for the period 2021-2040 with outcomes related to water, sanitation, transport, waste, and agriculture. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the hiring of an in-country facilitator and an economic advisor, developing an Investment Plan for NDC implementation as part of the Climate Action Enhancement Package, and local implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
