Micronesia
Micronesia submitted its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in 2016, followed by an updated version in 2022. Most recently, in September 2025, Micronesia submitted its NDC 3.0, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 35% by 2035 compared to business-as-usual levels, while pursuing a pathway to net zero by 2050.
Mitigation priorities include 80% renewable electricity by 2035, transition to electric and clean mobility, methane reduction and improved waste management and conservation and restoration to expand carbon sinks.
Adaptation measures focus on food and water security, coastal and ocean protection, resilient health systems, climate resilient infrastructure and disaster risk management.
NDC 3.0 development was led by the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management (DECEM).

- Membership: Member since 2019
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Micronesia has requested support related to mainstreaming NDCs into national/subnational planning and budgeting, improving the quality and ambition of the NDC, and improving coordination and whole-of-society approach. Through the Regional Pacific NDC Hub and in contribution to the NDC Partnership, partners have supported various activities including launch and awareness of FSM's NDC, retrofitting of energy efficient air-conditioning units, and the development of a Tourism Action Plan.
