The guidebook will help the Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) teams to take gender issues into account when deciding their technology priorities and conducting their barrier analyses, as well as integrating these issues into their Technology Action Plans and project ideas. The guide also points to a range of materials that can be used to address gender issues in their assessments. The purpose of this guidance is thus to equip TNA national coordinators and consultants with the necessary knowledge of gender sensitive approaches to enable them to integrate gender issues into their adaptation and mitigation technology assessments. The guidebook does the following:
(1) Introduces the key aspects of gender-responsive TNAs that teams need to take into account when taking a gender-sensitive approach.
(2) Presents a practical approach to addressing these elements across the different steps in a TNA process.
