Founded in 1998, the IUCN Global Gender Office (GGO) contributes towards IUCN’s vision and mission by providing innovative approaches, technical support, policy development and capacity building to a wide range of partners, ensuring gender equality is central to sustainable global environmental solutions. Through a partnership with USAID, Advancing Gender in the Environment (AGENT), the Gender and Renewable Energy (G-REEN) Platform establishes a network of gender and renewable energy experts and knowledge hub supports advancements in women’s empowerment and gender equality through, and for, the benefit of climate change and development outcomes. The G-REEN Platform includes a discussion forum on various themes pertinent to gender and renewable energy, a list of relevant events, an interactive map showcasing projects globally, and a resource library that includes webinar recordings and hundreds of publications touching on various technologies utilized around the world.
