The Canada-Caribbean Resilience Facility (CRF) is a collaborative initiative led by Global Affairs Canada and implemented through the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). It aims to strengthen climate and disaster resilience in nine Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname.

Eligibility Criteria

The facility works directly with:

  • National governments of the eligible countries.
  • Public sector institutions involved in disaster risk management, public financial management (PFM), and climate resilience.
  • Local and international experts providing technical assistance in areas such as engineering, environmental management, gender equality, disability inclusion, and procurement

Eligibility for specific support under the CRF is tied to:

  • Participation in recovery and resilience-building programs.
  • Engagement in gender-sensitive and disability-inclusive planning and implementation.
  • Efforts to strengthen public financial management systems for disaster preparedness and response

Eligible entities may receive:

  • Technical assistance and capacity building.
  • Help with accessing emergency finance.
  • Support in developing sectoral recovery capacity assessments and gender-responsive instruments
