By analyzing across 10 substantive assessments of the role of nature based solutions in NDCs, the tool discusses six broad recommendations for policy makers to support the process of mainstreaming nature-based solutions. The recommendations are developed from detailed feedback from partners and analytical work to unpack key features of NDCs through a nature-based solution perspective. The tool also includes more technical recommendations to aid agencies improve clarity and rigor around nature-based solutions when preparing or revising NDCs particuarly relating to marine and coastal ecosystems.
