This Sourcebook provides users with tools to help answer the question, “How do we best go about incorporating gender considerations into our Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) proposal?” It focuses on the front end of the project cycle, specifically in proposal preparation for accessing climate change adaptation financing. While many of the resources referenced are relevant across regions, the resources mainly highlight Asia-Pacific examples to support the work of country partners of USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific. Included within the Sourcebook is a summary checklist for including gender within typical CCA proposal sections, 9 sectoral modules highlighting climate and gender impacts and gender strategies, case studies for each sector, terms of reference (ToRs) for both international and host country gender specialists, entry points for a Gender-Sensitive Stakeholder Analysis, and a table of CCA-relevant gender resources. The sector modules covered are in agriculture, forestry/watershed management, biodiversity conservation, coastal water resources and fisheries, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), health, energy, transport, and urban programs.
