The UK submitted its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in 2016, followed by an updated version in 2022. Most recently, in January 2025, the UK submitted its 2035 NDC.
The country, which is a member of the NDC Partnership Steering Committee, aims to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 81% compared to 1990 levels on the path to net zero by 2050. The NDC covers energy, industrial processes and product use, agriculture, waste and land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF).
