The Raising Ambition through Partnership series highlights successful examples of mitigation and adaptation ambition-raising efforts while promoting exchange and learning to scale impact across the NDC Partnership.

All Parties to the Paris Agreement are required to submit NDCs every 5 years, with 2035 NDCs (NDCs 3.0) originally due by February 10, 2025. At COP29, the United Kingdom (UK) announced its updated NDC target to reduce all greenhouse gas emissions by at least 81% by 2035, compared to 1990 levels, excluding international aviation and shipping emissions. On January 30, 2025, the UK submitted details underpinning the 2035 NDC, known as the Information to facilitate Clarity, Transparency and Understanding, to the UNFCCC. This emission reduction target covers all greenhouse gases, sectors, and categories and is aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5 °C, as set out in the Global Stocktake, agreed at COP28.

With the original February 10th submission deadline having passed and with less than 25 Parties having submitted their NDC 3.0 thus far, join the NDC Partnership and the UK Government discuss their NDC 3.0 where they will share information on how they developed their new NDC, how it aligns with the Paris Agreement temperature goal, how they reflected the outcomes of the first Global Stocktake, and demonstrate transparency best practice. The UK may also be joined by additional Party governments to discuss their own plans for their NDC 3.0.
