The Africa Renewable Energy Fund II (AREF II) invests in renewable energy projects across Sub Saharan Africa excluding South Africa, with a focus on hydro, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and wind technologies. The Fund's Project Support Facility provides technical assistance and early-stage project support to improve bankability.
AREF II is managed by Berkeley Energy, a renewable energy fund manager investing in emerging markets in Africa and Asia.
Eligibility Criteria
Projects that receive equity investments from AREF II have access to the Project Support Facility.
