Bahamas

Overview

The Bahamas submitted its first NDC in 2016 and the updated NDC in 2022. The country strives to reduce emissions by 30% by 2030 as compared to the business-as-usual scenario and achieve at least 30% of renewables in the energy mix by the same year. The updated NDC covers the energy, transportation, industrial processes, land-use change and forestry, and waste sectors. The Bahamas has the target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2021
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, the Bahamas has received support for capacity building and knowledge products. Partners have supported training modules for the 2023 Regional Conference of Youth (RCOY) that the country hosted.
