In a world where financing climate transition has become a pervasive challenge, Data-to-Deal (D2D) offers a practical and holistic approach to supporting countries through the process of defining locally owned and grounded transition pathways and mobilizing associated finance. D2D was co-developed by Climate Compatible Growth and around 40 international partner organisations based on successful experiences in Latin America, where it rapidly led to the mobilisation of US$11 billion of concessional finance for Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Uruguay. The existing impact, and potential for future scaling, of Data-to-Deal were recently recognized by the prestigious GCBC Accelerator Award at the New York Climate Action Week. CCG's suite of seven Best Practice Briefs, co-authored with some 20 international organizations, constitute a valuable reference for governments and partners seeking to integrate D2D into national planning and financing processes, walking through each of the seven components of the framework in detail.
- Politics. Securing politics support.
- Capacity. Developing institutional capacity.
- Vision. Aligning the development vision.
- Modelling. Undertaking deliberative modelling.
- Engagement. Engaging with stakeholders.
- Policy. Enhancing the enabling environment.
- Finance. Developing finance strategies.
The Finance Best Practice Brief provides further guidance on Stage 3: Financing Strategy, Component 3: Identifying finance partners and setting up a detailed financing plan, of the Climate Investment Planning and Mobilization Framework (CIPMF).
