The Raising Ambition through Partnership webinar series highlights successful examples of mitigation and adaptation ambition-raising efforts while promoting exchange and learning to scale impact across the NDC Partnership.

Governments are due to submit their third Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in 2025. The outcomes of the Global Stocktake (GST) and COP29 underscore the growing urgency to elevate adaptation in the next generation of NDCs – NDCs 3.0. The GST revealed significant gaps in global adaptation efforts, with a need for more robust, measurable, and inclusive strategies. The GST also highlighted an implementation gap, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the next round of NDCs is investment-ready, particularly to secure the achievement of adaptation goals.

This public webinar will convene countries and partners to explore how adaptation can be effectively addressed in NDCs 3.0. Participants will discuss key findings from the GST, approaches to link National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) with NDCs, and strategies for scaling up finance and technical support. The event aims to identify practical pathways for countries to enhance adaptation in their NDCs and will draw on the recently published Advancing Adaptation in NDCs 3.0, which outlines concrete recommendations for integrating adaptation in NDCs that build on the outcomes of the GST and the UAE Framework for Global Climate Resilience for the Global Goal on Adaptation.
