COP29: Strengthening the participation of women, youth and indigenous communities in climate action
In response to the urgent need for climate action, the Plurinational Authority of Mother Earth (APMT) in Bolivia has established three consultative platforms since 2019. These platforms aim to raise awareness and foster dialogue among women, youth, and indigenous communities, facilitating collective learning and coordination of climate actions among vulnerable stakeholders. Aligned with Bolivia’s NDCs and their whole-of-society approach, the goal is to amplify the voices of women, youth, and indigenous peoples, actively involving them in the NDC implementation and updating process. Therefore, this event will bring together representatives of the Bolivian government and representatives of the three civil society platforms against climate change: the platform of women against climate change, the youth for climate justice platform and the indigenous peoples platform against climate change. They will share their experiences and the successful results arising from the technical and financial support provided by NDC Partnership and Fundacion Avina in 2024.
