The event will highlight how Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI) is mainstreaming Nepal’s NDC, NDC Implementation Plan (NDCIP), and National Adaptation Plan (NAP) into national plans, polices, regulations, and budgeting processes for the water, energy, irrigation, hydrology, and meteorology sectors. It will comprise of a 15-minute introductory Presentation by Focal Point, MoEWRI (Susheel Chandra Acharya), a 35-minute Panel Discussion with Nepal’s government agencies and development partners, and a 10-minute Closing Remarks by NDC Partnership. The event will focus on the planned support to Nepal through the NDC Partnership for the update of the Hydropower Development Policy (2001), and formulation of the new Energy Policy, Irrigation Law, Ground-water conservation and utilization Act, River and water-induced disaster management Act, and Hydrology and Meteorology Act while following the guidance provided in Nepal's NDCIP and NAP. It will also highlight how activities from the LT-LEDS, NDCIP and NAP are being planned to be integrated into national planning and budgeting process.
