The Republic of Congo submitted its revised first NDC in 2021. The revised NDC has an unconditional emissions reduction target of 21.46% and a conditional target of 32.19% by 2030 as compared to a 2017 baseline. The NDC covers the energy, industrial processes and product use, agriculture, forestry and other land use, and waste sectors and includes adaptation goals for the energy, agriculture, forestry and other land use, water, health, coastal zones, and tourism sectors. The government recently developed an NDC Action Plan with support of AFD Adapt’Action.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2018
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, the Republic of the Congo has requested support related to improving coordination and whole-of-society approaches, and LT-LEDS development and/or enhancement. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the organization of a strategic dialogue on achieving climate objectives and the recruitment of a national facilitator to improve the mobilization of resources for the implementation of the NDC.
