Overview

Nicaragua submitted its updated NDC in 2020. The updated NDC includes mitigation targets for energy, agriculture, land-use change, and forestry. By 2030, the country commits to generating 65% of energy consumed from renewable sources and decrease carbon emissions from deforestation by 25% as compared to the national baseline. The updated NDC also includes adaptation actions related to protection of biospheres, water resource management, infrastructure, technology, health, and early warning systems.
