Overview

Cuba updated its NDC in September 2020. The updated NDC covers enhanced mitigation and adaptation targets that prioritize action in the energy and agriculture, forestry and other land use sectors. Cuba commits to generate 24% of electricity from renewable sources and increase forest coverage to 33% by 2030.

Partnership Engagement
  • Membership: member since 2022
  • Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Cuba has requested support related to improving the quality and ambition of the NDC and capacity building. Cuba will develop an NDC implementation plan with Partnership support. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including hiring of a facilitator to develop the process for the implementation of the, the vision for enhanced ambition in the 2025 NDC, and the development of the Long-Term Strategy.
