The Water and Wastewater Companies for Climate Mitigation (WaCCLIM) is an organization dedicated to lowering the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of water and wastewater utilities. WaCCLIM has developed a web-based tool, known as the Energy Performance and Carbon Emissions Assessment and Monitoring Tool (ECAM), that evaluates the GHG emissions of the urban water cycle that are within the boundaries of water and wastewater management utilities. After ECAM has assessed and evaluated these emissions, it provides the utilities with solutions to ensure they are actively reducing emissions caused by energy use and wastewater management. The ECAM allows for these utilities to assess and quantify their GHG emissions and also provides solutions that allow for these utilities to decreacse their emissions.
