Sara Hernandez Munoz

Sara Hernández Muñoz is a Country Engagement Specialist in the NDC Partnership Support Unit for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region and is based in Washington, D.C. She engages directly with government counterparts and other stakeholders to assess climate-related needs and identify opportunities for collaboration across sectors, regions and international partners to address those needs.  

Sara has 15 years of experience in sustainable development and economic analysis. Prior to joining the NDC Partnership, Sara was the LAC Regional Lead of the Finance Practice at World Wide Fund for Nature and served as Program Director at TechnoServe, where she led a portfolio of programs focused on environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals in the agricultural supply chains of corporations operating in Mexico and promoted sustainable sourcing  from smallholder farmers. Previously, she served as the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) Policy Director at Mexico's Ministry of Economy and worked as an economist in the Directorate General of Economic Research at the Central Bank of Mexico.  

Sara completed a Master of Science in environmental economics and climate change at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master of Arts in economics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
