Ruth Nyamasege
Kenya In-Country Facilitator
Ruth Nyamasege holds an academic background in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management from Africa Nazarene University. Since 2016, Ruth has been actively involved in climate change planning at both national and sub-national levels in Kenya. She led GIZ Kenya’s technical support of the development of Kenya’s second National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP) which was implemented between 2018 – 2022 as well as the third and current NCCAP for 2023 – 2027. She also led the updating of Kenya’s NDC (2020 – 20230) and the development of Kenya’s LT-LEDS. As the NDCP in-country facilitator, Ruth is embedded within the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, specifically within the Climate Change Directorate. She is engaged in the development of Kenya’s new NDC (2031-2035) and in coordinating development partners to align their support to Kenya’s climate change priorities.
