Mirjam Kaholongo
Country Engagement Specialist
Mirjam Kaholongo is a Country Engagement Specialist with the NDC Partnership Support Unit and is based in Bonn, Germany. In her role, she supports country-level engagement efforts in the Anglophone and Lusophone Africa regions, focusing on country-driven planning, implementation and enhancement of NDC processes.
With over 20 years of experience in promoting sustainable development, Mirjam has successfully led numerous donor-funded projects in collaboration with governments, UN agencies, civil society and NGOs. Her work focuses on sustainable agricultural practices that enhance resilience, climate change adaptation strategies for vulnerable communities and the sustainable management of natural resources to mitigate environmental degradation. Before joining the Support Unit, she served as the National Project Manager at the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF), overseeing projects funded by the Green Climate Fund. Additionally, she worked as an NDC Strategic Advisor, embedded in the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, with support from UNDP.
Mirjam holds a master’s degree in environmental management from the University of Queensland in Australia; she specialized in sustainable development.
