Julianne Baker-Gallegos
Country Engagement Specialist
Julianne is a Country Engagement Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in the NDC Partnership Support Unit. She is responsible for leading the NDC Partnership’s work in a number of countries, developing strategies for engagement and liaising with key stakeholders on the ground, enhancing collaboration among decision-makers to advance climate action. Julianne has over 10 years of experience working in the intersection of environmental conservation and development.
Prior to joining the NDC Partnership, she was responsible for strategic decision-making and team growth as Engineering Manager of Mapbox's Satellite team. Julianne has worked in various capacities on research and project implementation for the World Bank, focusing on nature-based solutions, urban resilience, climate change and gender. She has worked on knowledge and partnership management at organizations like The University of California, Berkeley's Center for Effective Global Action and Yale University's MacMillan Center, and has field experience in Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
Julianne holds a Master in Environmental Management from Yale University and Bachelor of Science in Tropical Biology from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.
When she’s not in the office, you are likely to find Julianne exploring the tropical beaches and forests of her home country, Costa Rica.
