Ireland Announces EUR 2.5 Million to Support Countries with Implementing Climate Commitments

The Government of Ireland has committed EUR 2.5 million to the NDC Partnership.   

19 Nov. 2025, Belém, Brazil – The Government of Ireland has committed EUR 2.5 million to the NDC Partnership to support its 2026–2030 Work Program. 

The contribution, announced during COP30, will strengthen the NDC Partnership’s work to support developing countries as they implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).  

Building on nearly a decade of NDC support, the work program — endorsed by more than 250 countries and institutions — sets a clear strategy for delivering climate and development progress worldwide. It sets out how the NDC Partnership will support countries in unlocking economy-wide transformations through collective efforts that achieve far more than what any member could accomplish alone. The EUR 2.5 million will be directed to the NDC Partnership Support Unit and Partnership Action Fund (PAF), which enables implementing partners with limited resources to respond to country requests for support to develop and implement their climate commitments.

The science is irrefutable. The delivery of new NDCs is a key milestone in our collective efforts to keep warming below 1.5 degrees C and the NDC Partnership does vital work, supporting countries in their green transition. These transitions will be the basis of true, sustainable development.” 

Pablo Vieira, NDC Partnership Global Director: “This contribution from Ireland will enable the NDC Partnership to close critical gaps in NDC support, ensuring countries receive timely, coordinated assistance from across our full membership. As countries move from planning to implementing their new NDCs, this funding will be essential to accelerating collective climate action.”
