The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations provide companies and financial institutions of all sizes with a risk management and disclosure framework to identify, assess, manage and, where appropriate, disclose nature-related issues. The TNFD is a global, market-led, science-based and government-supported initiative to help companies and financial institutions incorporate nature into their decision-making. The TNFD was established to encourage and facilitate a shift in the mindset and behavior of companies and financial institutions through enterprise and portfolio risk management and mainstream corporate reporting. Building on the market’s experience with climate-related reporting over the past decade and the work of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the TNFD recommends 14 disclosures to promote the provision of clear, comparable and consistent information by companies to investors and other providers of capital. The Taskforce also provides an accompanying set of metrics for measurement and a suite of additional guidance to help organizations get started on nature-related assessment and disclosure.
