The CookFund Programme, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is a five-year initiative (2021–2026) designed to address barriers to clean cooking adoption, including affordability, accessibility, and consumer awareness. It aims to increase the share of the population with access to sustainable cooking solutions, thereby contributing to Tanzania’s climate change commitments. The programme provides financial and technical assistance to enterprises and companies involved in the production, importation, distribution, and retail of clean cooking technologies.
UNCDF as a Fund Manager and Implementer invites eligible enterprises and companies to apply for funding to accelerate the market rollout of clean cooking solutions in Tanzania. The programme targets five regions: Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro, Dodoma, and Mwanza.
The programme main objective is to reduce climate change impact by increasing access to sustainable cooking solutions.
