MENA Climate Week - NDC Partnership Showcase: Innovative Climate Action at the Water-Climate Nexus

Hosted jointly by the NDC Partnership, the Netherlands, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), this event will engage developing countries and key partners to present and discuss opportunities to raise climate ambition through a water-nexus approach. As critically surfaced through the ongoing Global Stocktake, scaling up climate action by leveraging sectoral opportunities will help countries fast-track their efforts. The roundtable will explore critical water challenges and solutions at the nexus of land and food security in MENA, with speakers presenting examples of how climate ambition has been raised through a water nexus focus. It will also raise awareness among development partners on the need for water nexus projects and technical assistance and will showcase countries’ sectoral plans. Key messages from the 2023 UN Water Conference will be amplified, highlighting the importance of and opportunities for water-nexus in climate action,
specifically through enhancement and implementation of countries’ NDCs.
