Details

Australia’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), Asia Investors Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) and the NDC Partnership will launch a time-bound peer network to help build deeper and sustained engagement around NDC-aligned finance and investment in Southeast Asia.

The network will create spaces for countries to learn from each other and from regionally relevant private sector, industry and financial leaders. Countries will gain actionable insights to inform and support country-led efforts on market development, while institutional investors will have a structured pathway to engage with governments and partners on market-development priorities and the enabling conditions for deployment of long-term capital.

The peer network will build off the NDC Partnership’s in-country engagement and complement existing initiatives in the region through a structured regional peer-learning and market-development exchange focused on practical investment bottlenecks and approaches across countries.

The peer network will:

  • Help build critical capacity to improve access to finance, one of three impact pathways detailed in the NDC Partnership 2026-2030 Work Program.
  • Help government officials identify and advance innovative solutions and build meaningful connections across governments and with expert partners outside of government.
  • Contribute to clearer articulation of investment bottlenecks, enabling conditions and market development priorities for scaling private capital, including reducing entry barriers for international institutional investors.
  • Develop practical, system-level approaches and implementation options within priority sectors that can inform and support country-led reforms.
  • Align governments, private sector actors and partners around actionable approaches and stronger linkages between policy, investment planning and financing pathways to support NDC implementation.
  • Facilitate practical “how-to” exchanges and learning that help participants gain a better understanding of country priorities and investment requirements, and develop tools and capacity to take practical action.
  • Support south-south networking and peer learning, private sector innovation and implementation experience across countries.
  • Strengthen relationships, networks and collaboration among governments, private sector actors and partners to support continued exchange of best practices, collective learning and replication beyond the pilot.
