Harnessing Data for the Energy Transition

To accelerate emissions reduction, policymakers need detailed statistics to monitor the path of the energy transition and develop effective mitigation measures that help them reach their climate and development goals. This knowledge exchange event aims to showcase countries’ best practices and experiences on the utilisation of various energy data collection approaches for enhanced tracking of climate targets including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The event will also provide a forum for sharing lessons learned and practical insights on methods used to monitor the energy transition including the establishment of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) information systems, conducting energy surveys and other approaches.
