National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) are essential tools for countries to strategically respond to climate risks and build long-term resilience. This side event brings together representatives from Eswatini and Grenada, two countries with distinct geographies and shared vulnerabilities, to reflect on their adaptation journeys and the lessons learned in advancing inclusive, country-driven adaptation planning. Both countries have benefited from targeted support provided by the NAP Global Network (NAP GN).

By convening voices from a Small Island Developing State (SIDS) and a Landlocked Developing Country (LLDC), this session will showcase how tailored approaches, regional solidarity, and strategic partnerships, such as with the NAP Global Network and Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub can accelerate progress toward resilient futures.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Showcase country-led adaptation planning in Grenada and Eswatini, highlighting inclusive approaches, institutional leadership, and lessons learned from SIDS and LLDC contexts.
  2. Demonstrate the role of technical partnerships, including support from the NAP Global Network and the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub, in strengthening adaptation governance, access to finance and stakeholder engagement.

At COP30, this session will engage policymakers, adaptation practitioners, climate finance experts, development planners, and civil society actors working on climate adaptation. By sharing experiences from two geographically and institutionally distinct countries, Grenada and Eswatini, it reinforces the message that inclusive, country-driven planning, when supported by strategic partnerships and regional solidarity, is essential for advancing climate resilience and ensuring that no country is left behind in the global adaptation agenda.
