COP29: Sharing Experiences from the Maldives' Biennial Transparency Report Development
Details
The Maldives, as a vulnerable island nation on the frontlines of climate change, has made significant strides in developing its Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) under the UNFCCC framework. For Maldives, the BTR is a key tool for tracking and reporting on national progress in implementing the Nationally Determined Contributions and meet its climate goals. This side event aims to share the Maldives' experiences and challenges in developing the BTR, with a focus on the processes of coordination across various sectors, the methodologies used, and lessons learned that could be beneficial to other small island developing states (SIDS) and nations with similar contexts.
