Details

This event offers timely and practical resources for Parties to increase the role of nature in 2025 NDCs. At the event, we will present the second edition of the NDC Guide for Enhancing Ambition through Nature-Based Solutions, developed by Nature4Climate Coalition and Party partners. This guide provides an implementation roadmap and tools to make NDCs more nature-positive and investible, aligning with several 2030 Breakthrough Targets – including the Land Use, Agriculture & Food, and the Oceans and Coastal Zones solutions– while keeping people at the center of building climate resilience.    The event will also zoom-in to explore specific opportunities and challenges in integrating food systems and setting more ambitious forest targets for adaptation and mitigation within NDCs. Discussions will draw from the Food Forward NDCs guidance, which provides direction in 30 key areas of food systems, and insights from a recent WWF/Climate Focus/Trillion Trees study analyzing forest targets in 100+ forest rich countries which includes concrete recommendations on the way forward. Bringing together non-state actors and Parties, the event will demonstrate cross-sectoral progress in strengthening NDC targets, by providing concrete actions Parties have taken to enhance their ambition on nature-based solutions in NDC revisions, offering valuable lessons for increasing ambition and impact.
