COP29: Lessons from the last round of NDCs for designing bankable NDCs 3.0
Accessing finance for effective implementation of NDCs and LT-LEDS is crucial for achieving the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement, building resilience, and fostering sustainable development. However, ensuring the bankability and effective execution of these strategies remains a persistent challenge for developing countries leading to a growing implementation gap. This event will share key insights and lessons from the last round of NDC submissions, focusing on how to design and implement bankable NDCs 3.0. With developing countries facing persistent challenges in ensuring the financial viability of NDCs and LT-LEDS, the event will explore practical strategies for closing implementation gaps. Drawing on Climate Analytics’ analysis of LT-LEDS in Africa and support provided to SIDS and LDCs since the submission of iNDCs, the session will present findings on common barriers, and actionable steps for successful implementation, including the role of Climate Finance Units.
