COP29: From Commitment to Actions - Successes, Challenges, and Lessons Learnt from Implementing NDC WASH Targets in Tanzania

The side event will be focusing on sharing findings of a study conducted in Tanzania by Water Aid to assess how far NDC targets in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene have been implemented. The study looked at existing institutional arrangements to support NDC implementation at national and local level, existence of implementation plan, allocation of financial resources from internal sources to implement NDC, awareness and knowledge of staff responsible for implementing and monitor implementation of NDC and lastly, capacity to fund raise as internal financial resources are not enough to successfully implement NDC.  Experts who will take part in these side events will share successes, challenges and lessons learnt from implementing NDC 2.0, this will form the basis for improvement in implementing NDC 3.0.
