COP28: Integrating Health in Loss and Damage Financing

The Loss and Damage fund, agreed at COP27, is a significant milestone for vulnerable countries impacted by climate-related disasters exacerbated by amplified by the heightened sensitivity of their socioeconomic and ecological systems. Gender-responsive action is crucial, including sexual and reproductive health services, as disasters disproportionately impact women and children. The event proposes support for integrated support for climate action to include reproductive health services, as way of strengthening health system resilience.
