COP28: Global Call Information Session - Looking back at 2023 and into 2024 for LT-LEDS and NDC alignment, update and enhancement
The Global Call for NDCs 3.0 & LT-LEDS, launched during COP 27 by the NDC Partnership, aims to provide countries with financial and technical assistance for enhanced climate ambition through robust targets and measures to implement them. It focuses on helping countries improve their NDCs in preparation for the 2025 submissions and supporting the development and early implementation of LT-LEDS.
In its first year, 50 developing countries and 15 partners actively participated in the Global Call. COP 28 presents an excellent opportunity to showcase progress, share the status of engagement, communicate lessons learned, and outline opportunities for 2024 and beyond, amid the Global Stocktake.
Event Objective
The event targets NDC Partnership's country focal points, country representatives, and development partners. It aims to increase the visibility of the Global Call to the NDC Partnership membership and gather further interest from partners to engage. It also aims to update attendees on the countries and partners involved, statistics and trends, and upcoming priorities. The event will include partner input from the 2050 Pathways Platform and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
