COP28: Evidence Informed Nationally Determined Contributions for and with Children and Young People - Child and youth inclusion in national climate action plans
Co-organized by: Uruguay and YOUNGO
The climate crisis is a child rights crisis. Children and young people are disproportionately impacted by environmental hazards, shocks, and stresses, and will continue to face the consequences of the climate crisis throughout their lifetimes. As such, it is imperative that the needs and perspectives of children and young people are integrated into national climate and environmental planning documents, such as Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This event will introduce participants to the importance of child- and youth-sensitivity within NDCs and equip them with the capacity to navigate UNICEF’s newly public NDCs for every child data platform to inform their advocacy and work.
