COP16: Bridging Biodiversity and Climate - What to Expect from Cali to Belém

As we approach critical global milestones – UNCBD COP16 in Cali, UNFCCC COP29 in Baku, UNCCD COP in Saudi Arabia, and UNFCCC COP30 in Belém – the session will bring together key stakeholders from the nature and climate movement to align priorities, explore collaboration opportunities, and create a shared vision for the success of COP30 in securing the necessary funding for nature recovery by 2030.

With scientific evidence highlighting the importance of forest protection and other nature-based solutions to achieve global climate goals, this session will spotlight financial and political pathways toward COP30, and opportunities for joint actions that drive the necessary financial mechanisms and commitments to meet our global biodiversity and climate goals.
