The Asia-Pacific Climate Week aims to foster engagement between the public and private sector, cities and municipalities, academia and civil society with the common goal of addressing the climate emergency, and provides an opportunity to discuss climate action, key vulnerabilities and challenges from a distinct Asian Pacific perspective. It convenes key actors from the region to increase ambition, to learn and exchange knowledge and best practices on the implementation of national climate plans, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and global climate action, and to assess, plan jointly or create new climate action initiatives. The climate week provides a space to develop a constructive dialogue among regional stakeholders in the spirit of inclusiveness and building empathy that has characterized the Talanoa dialogue. Organized in support of a strong outcome of the United Nations SecretaryGeneral Climate Action Summit on 23 September 2019, the climate week invites policymakers and other local, national, regional and global stakeholders to engage in in-depth discussions on regional challenges and solutions in energy and industry transition, infrastructure, cities and local action, resilience and adaptation and nature-based solutions.
